When tillage begins, other arts follow.
The Farmers, therefore, are the founders
of human civilization.

We plant new Alfalfa in the late summer (end of Aug. - begining of Sept.) so as to allow the Stands to establish
before the first frost hit's. Some of our neighbors plant in the spring but than don't get as many cutting the first
season as when we plant in the fall. We use DOEBLER'S "Prolific"
(Non-GMO Leaf Hopper Resistant), at a rate of approx. 1-50 lb. bag per 2.5 acres, it only needs to be planted every 5-6 years.
The day's are long and very hot for most of the hay season, but when there is a good harvest it makes
all the sweat and muscle strains seem worth while.
